Here we have an English regency period sofa table in rosewood with brass inlay that has seen better days. It is a single pedestal table with two drop leaves, four saber legs with brass lions paw castors and dates to the first decade of the 19th C. It is actually a very fine table of this sort but in need of some serious attention.
The top removed from the base. One of the leaves has become detached from the main table and a section of the inlaid brass line is completely out. The finish is discolored and water stained.
Catastrophic damage to one leg, a result of careless moving. It should be noted though that the leg was already compromised by severe woodworm infestation.
